My name is Seidie Kay. I live with my family which includes my mom and my two younger siblings. I have four siblings all together. I am the eldest of my moms kids and the youngest of my dads kids. I have an older brother and an older sister. I am an aunt of my two nieces and nephew. I was born in Tulare California and was raised there for the majority of my life. Until, my mom finally could afford our own place. We made a big move, 15 minutes away to a small town. Lindsay, California. Switching schools already in the middle of my freshman year was hard. I didn't know anyone and it was hard to make friends. Getting used to our new lifestyle was also very hard. Moving away from my family and not being able to see them as often as I used to was such a huge change. The fact that making friends was hard, I didn't like to come to school. I was looking forward to joining an Orchestra class or something that had to do with my love for music so I would have a reason to actually like my new change. The beginning of my sophomore year my mom had got sick, I would miss school just to help her out around the house. So after a couple weeks I switched to independent studies at John J. Cairns High School. It was so much better. I stayed at that high school until my second semester of my junior year. I had the choice to stay and graduate early but I wanted the high school experience that I knew I was going to regret not having as an adult. When I came back to Lindsay High School, things changed. I made a couple new friends and actually got comfortable here. I broke out of my shell and started talking to people and making new friends. It's something that I've always struggled with. I'm glad to say that Lindsay High School has given me a great experience and the memories I have made here I will cherish forever. I am also employed and helping my mom financially. As the eldest of my mom's children, I want to set an example to my younger brother and sister to show them that they can do what ever they set their mind to.
